Team-Up Thursday: Week Fourteen

I know, I know. You're singing the song too:

"Yes, we have no bananas....we have no bananas today!"

fruit dip

Apparently, Melody and I are both partial to that funny yellow fruit. Melody's bananas do look a bit more natural than mine. Mine suffer from grocery store lighting. I got a few very odd looks in the produce section while trying to find the most photogenic side of the fruit. I wonder how many other banana pics we'll see in the pool today?

On a side note, I won't be commenting on anyone's diptychs until after the weekend. Not that you wait around for my comments, but just in case anyone wonders. I'm off for my annual girls' weekend -- yippee! I promise I'll be looking at everyone's creations on Monday:).

P.S. If you are new here, just jump in and join the fun -- you don't even need an invitation. If you need a partner, email me: monamegs@hotmail.com

Friday Night Date

I got to hang around with "Big Al" for two hours on Friday night. As you can see, Big Al is man enough to handle two women at a time. Tammie and I got to know him better while he sat on our laps at the school Science Fair. We had a line of kids and parents waiting to touch this American alligator from the time the event opened at 6:30 until closing time at 8:30. I couldn't feel my legs and toes afterwards. Anyone else out there able to say they did anything like that this weekend?

Team-Up Thursday: Week Thirteen

"You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record, baby..." Can't you just hear this song when you look at our diptych this week? Or maybe I'm just showing my age and you're just looking at your computer funny after reading that sentence....

Anyway, Melody and I did SHAPE this week, and apparently, we were both in a round kind of mood, eh? I like that we not only picked the same shape, but similar color schemes as well. I actually played around with a pinkish border, but then decided that might be a bit much.

We're getting lots of great dips in the flickr pool, so don't forget to check those out.

If you're new here, grab a partner and join the fun!

p.s. In case anyone is grossing out, that is NOT, in fact, a swimming pool. We played mini golf this weekend, and this is one of my shots from the Bulwinkle's Family Fun Center. Just in case anyone was wondering ;).

Team-Up Thursday: Week Twelve

OK, before presenting this week's diptych, I just wanted to add a little postscript to last week's "breaking the rules" post. There are no rules. Period. I was just breaking the pattern of what Melody and I usually do, and apparently, I have a little bit of a guilt complex, so there you go. You and your partner are now free to move about the cabin.

Whew...now on to this week:

from lying down

Melody and I did FROM LYING DOWN this week, and this may be our most intriguing dip yet. I think it would be difficult to guess the theme simply from looking at our photos. It took me most of the week to realize that I did not, in fact, have to be lying on my back to grab a shot. I do have a front side as well...who knew;)?

Tuesday evening found me lying, stomach to the ground, on wet grass trying to capture a row of squirrelly t-ballers as they waited not-so-patiently for their turns at bat. I loved how their legs dangled above the ground, and how the sun offered that little flare to enliven the scene even further.

In contrast, Melody's gorgeous shot is so simple, so minimalist. Somehow it manages to balance out the chaos in my shot very nicely.

What do you and your partner have in store for us this week?

p.s. remember that even if you are just posting to the flickr pool, post a link here in comments so that everyone checks out your dip.

Batter Up

Owen had his first T-ball game today. Think he's excited?

Team-Up Thursday Update: Week Twelve

Melody and I are working on "FROM LYING DOWN" this week as our theme. Should be a neat challenge, since that's not my normal photography position:). Join us or think of your own theme -- we look forward to your Thursday dips!

Team-Up Thursday: Week Eleven

I chose COLOR this week in the hopes of finding some in our dreary weather. We had a nice mild winter this year, but Spring has come in with a ton of wet, cold weather. It's been bummin' me out. I still had trouble this week, and I have a guilty confession: I cheated. I had taken a flower photo and an Easter egg photo, and I couldn't pick. I finally decided the flower photo was bolder (it was red and yellow), so I sent it along to Melody on Wednesday. Then I got hers. And darned if the Easter egg photo wouldn't look SO MUCH BETTER!

So I quickly emailed her the other one. Yes, you are totally allowed to hang me up by my toes for fudging the rules a bit, but really...doesn't this diptych look good? I even did a colorful border...just to distract you from my cheating ways. It won't happen again.

BSM: Cagefighters

This is how Harrison and Owen entertained themselves Saturday while James got some pants altered. They had a three-way mirror. I was lucky enough to have a ringside side and my iPhone camera.

Who says kids don't provide cheap entertainment?

Team-Up Thursday Update: Week Eleven

It's been a dreary week here in Oregon weather-wise, so I chose COLOR for our theme this week. Whether you follow our theme or pick your own, we look forward to seeing all your diptychs here on Thursday!
