Theme Thursday: Passages

If this theme had been a couple of weeks down the road, I probably would have posted about the kindergarten rite of passage and Owen's sixth birthday. But it's this week, so I'm looking at another birthday instead.

My BFF Kathy turns the big 4-0 on Monday, so I thought I'd celebrate here on the blog.

BSM: The Cowhand

We had a fun vacation with friends in Sunriver this past week. The kids went non-stop: biking, swimming, even riding horses. Actually, the moms went non-stop, too. After almost five days together, Harrison and his friend Brady asked if they could have a playdate while we unpacked the cars from the trip. :)

Boating Outtakes: Our Adventure

I captured many cute shots of the kids tubing on the lake last weekend. But I really hadn't had a chance to go through all the photos and describe our boating adventure in detail...so here are some highlights:



The boat trailer blew a tire...Owen was helpful in assessing the situation.



Yep, it blew out within spitting distance of the boat ramp turn off. Fortunately, we were able to take a tire off someone else's boat trailer (no, we didn't steal it). It only added a couple of hours to the trip :).

Once we got out on the water, the fun began. And the brotherly love was obvious:

Now the kids want a boat so we can go out every weekend.

The sound of the ocean is music to my ears. Trying to get Owen clean after spending the day there? Not so much:

BSM: New Favorite Activity

A friend invited us to go boating with him this weekend -- what a treat! The kids found a new favorite activity:



Oh yes, tubing was a big hit (understatement).

Theme Thursday: Gigantic?????

Gigantic....gigantic....if I repeat it enough times, will something pop into my head? If I scan through my recent photos, will I see something that fits the theme? Anything gigantic around my house to photograph?

Answer to all three: NO.

Instead, I found a "gigantic" number of photos I have taken recently of family and friends that I haven't posted on my blog. Here are a few:









And yes, this IS the world's worst interpretation of the theme for the week.

BSM: The Swing

Dear Aunt Megan,

When you said we were going to do something fun, I got excited. A rollercoaster? White water rafting? Helicopter ride over the coast?

This is what I got: a swing at the park. Really? That's your idea of excitement? I tried to be polite. I tolerated your little "adventure." But I have to let you know: I was just not that into it.



Bring your "A game" next time you think up something "exciting," OK?
