Theme Thursday: Storytelling

I'm posting this a day early because the story I'm telling is a true one: I'm 39 today!

on my birthday

I've never taken a birthday self-portrait before, so I figured I'd better begin before I have to start photoshopping all the wrinkles. Usually, storytelling shots don't involve a close up, but I like filling the frame with a face. The viewer has to imagine the stories the eyes have seen or will see during the course of a lifetime.

Hope you all have great stories to tell!

Happy Birthday!! And by the way, I don't see a single wrinkle. Nope, not a single one.

You have amazing eyes. Must be why your photography is so good!

Happy birthday! I think you took a great picture for the 39th one. I can't quite tell what color your eyes are, bluish perhaps? But it's a great shot because I almost imagine the stories hidden there. :)

Happy birthday! Wonderful self-portrait - and I can imagine the stories in your pretty eyes. :) I like your glasses, too. I got Lasik last year, so I loved to buy fun glasses when I needed them. :)

I LOVE filling a frame with a face. Faces have so many stories to tell...expressions, lines, whats behind the eyes. You did great on this shot.

Happy Birthday!

A very happy birthday to you! Now you can officially tell everyone you're 39 for the rest of your life, I do! Okay, not really, I'm a realist. But my grandmother used to.
