It has been done: Owen is officially a "graduate." This time, he actually wore the lei and cap:
He sat in the front row (OK, it was assigned seating, but let's not mention it):
And...he participated:
This was the "Nifty Fifty United States" song; Owen was California.
He is one cute preschooler...excuse me, I mean kindergartner. Congrats, Owen -- we're so proud of you!

It just goes to show persistence pays off.
He is officially "ready" for k-garten now! Good work, Owen!
Good job Owen! I stumbled onto your blog. I had to post because Owen is the boys name I had picked when all 3 of my girls were born. It is a family name. He is very handsome.
Aw! What a big kid! He looks like he was having fun, and the hat and lei look good on him. I bet you're happy as well.
By the way, I've been meaning to ask you a question. We're going to the beach next week, and I was wondering if there was anything you do to 'protect' your camera when you shoot at the beach? Some sites are really conservative and recommend either not taking cameras to the beach at all, or encapsulating everything but the very end of the lens. But I've seen enough photos from the beach to know that shooting there doesn't equal certain death for a camera. Since you feature a lot of sand and surf in your photos, I though I'd ask. Thanks!
Congrats Owen and what a great state to be! ;)
Congrats Owen. I agree he is one cute Kindergartner! How exciting!
A proud moment for everybody, I am sure. Congratulations to your kindergartner and you.
