BSM: Holidays are Here

Anyone who knows me IRL, knows that for me, Thanksgiving is simply the long weekend when it's now "legal" to get ready for Christmas. Turkey, schmurkey. Let's just get out the mistletoe. OK, I've never actually hung mistletoe, but you get the idea. At our house, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care by the end of the holiday weekend. I certainly didn't beat Melody over at Hip Momma's Journal who got her tree up weeks ago, but you can't win 'em all :).

On that note, here's our prize specimen for this year before it was cut:

this year's tree!

On completely unrelated, yet Christmas-y note, I need your opinions. We saw my new nephew this weekend and I was able to take a few pictures of him and my nieces. Unfortunately, on picture day, the Washington weather was very grey and drizzly. Not ideal conditions for a 4-week-old baby, so the shoot was quick and dirty. I was thinking of printing this board and framing it as their gift this year. What say the BSM blogosphere? Any thoughts on improving it?

I think the storyboard came out great. You got all three of them seperate and then all three of them together. What more could they want? The yare beautiful children. Nice job.

Great shot of your family getting a tree.

The storyboard is so cute. That would be a great gift.

Good for you making the trek to the woods!! And, it is a lovely shot, perfect printed, and on a card.

OK, cutting your own tree is the ultimate Christmas experience, one we wouldn't get here in S.Texas.

I like the storyboard as is. You placed the images nicely, one of each and one all together. It will be a great gift!

The collage of your nieces and nephew is wonderful!
Do you have a shot of the tree all decked out? We haven't gotten ours yet... I'm waiting until next weekend. According to the hubby, Christmas trees can't come into the house until December. :-)

It'd make a wonderful gift! What parents wouldn't love that?!

I have never gotten to cut my own tree...one day!

Your b/w storyboard turned out nice. My only thought would make the border around the pictures a solid black rather than the pin striping. Otherwise the pictures look great!

Love the Christmas tree excursion photo. We go to a decorated parking lot to choose a tree that was cut down in your neck of the woods before being trucked down here!
Love the photos of your nieces and nephew. They'll love them.

I think it's perfect. They are all such beautiful children. I love the shot of all three of them. The older girl looks like a natural holding the baby, she must be a big helper.
