BSM: Hoop it Up!

This weekend all three of my boys played hoops and I acted as court photographer.  Harrison is playing on a basketball team this winter and is very intent on improving his skills.  He loves playing with his dad, especially.  Owen's along for the ride, but isn't quite big enough to make shots without James' help, so he sometimes plays the "pouty observer" role instead.  For me, it's wonderful to see them growing into the game and being able to really play.
I converted all of these to b & w; between H's tie-dye and O's Halloween shirt and red shorts, not to mention the bad gym lighting, the colors in these pics were enough to make your eyes bleed.

Aw, I just feel for the little guys that have to watch from the sidelines because I have one, too. It's sooo hard for her. So I love the shot of the little guy.

These are great! I'm dying to know what camera you used!

So, you these were taken with a D80? And, you don't find it bulky to take with you wherever you go?

susiej: it is an extra thing to carry, but if i know i'm going to be taking pics, particularly somewhere with bad light, i'll take the d80. it's fantastic!

The joy of BW to hide the crazy colors kids wear! Love all the emotion on the first pic.

Oh, I turn things to bw all the time due to distracting crazy colors! Nice shots. :)

two fun shots. I love the one on the left. Two basketballs is better than one, huh?

Good idea to make them B&W...I have a few action shots taken at indoor swim meets that really could benefit from that tip!

I hinted to my hubby this weekend that I'd like to just blow a wad on a D80...he acted like he didn't hear me! :-(

I'll just be over at my blog pouting....

Um...so super sweet that I don't really have anything to say at all. I love the B/W...it works so well. My favorite picture is the bottom left, hands down. Favorite.

what a great family time! These are great in b&w - I especially like the last one, with a hint of sepia. Gotta love b&w for all the flaws it hides!!

Great pictures! And Harrison is a great name, too!!

Can't wait for my Harrison to be old enough for sports.

That's a great photostory! The b&w adds a kind of sports page feel to it! Love Dad lifting him up :-)
