Team-Up Thursday: Week Ten

"Curiouser and curiouser" -- Alice

booksdip10

Melody chose our theme this week, and I was thrilled that it just happened to be one of my favorite things: BOOK. I had a vision of a row of books for my photo, so I ventured into the library with my camera. And I felt a little bit illegal. My rule-minding self just couldn't walk right in with my camera taking photos. I snuck up to the second floor and looked around guiltily before quietly taking my camera out of my bag. Then I checked around again to make sure no library workers were looking before snapping a few shots.

I'm not sure why I felt I had to be so clandestine, but it just felt slightly dangerous taking photographs in the public library. That's just the "on the edge" kind of life I lead.

I do, however, adore the resulting diptych. The row of books almost looks like a tunnel, possibly one into which Alice would fall. And sweet "Alice," so engrossed in her book. The tea set on the suitcase just makes the scene. Having two boys, the closest I could get to this shot is one of the Mad Hatter.

So what do you have to show us today?

P.S. Remember to link to your blog in the comments as well as upload to the flickr pool.

P.P.S. Remember to grab our cool Team-Up button (thanks Leah!) for your blog over on mine or Melody's sidebar.

P.P.P.S. Email me at monamegs@hotmail.com if you need a partner.

I love both of these! Great story about sneaking around in the library! I always feel sneaky with my camera in certain places too. Great shot. I love the lines!
We did "song".

LOVE YOUR THEME! Love your photos so much - they are perfect for your theme. I know the feeling - sometimes when I take a photo in a store, I get the feeling I'm going to get arrested or something OR I'm invading someone's special space!

Corey and I did SPRING this week - even though it's going to snow in my neck of the woods!!!! Ohhhh well!

PS. ALICE is ADORABLE - love the way your processed your photo.

Ha! You are just a rebel, plain and simple ;)

I love the haziness of your shot, I can totally picture being there in that row...the scent of all the old books, awesome capture.

I'll go comment on M's on her blog!

I'm pretty sure I saw your library photo in a dream once, but the row of books was much, much longer. ;)

And isn't it funny how (some of us) tend to feel a little funny getting our camera out in public? Especially (shhh!) in the library.

Carrie and I did Supper this week.

We did BOOK this week. You shot reminds me that I need to take the girls to the library more often. They love it there.

Love the theme, and love both of your photos! I totally felt the tunnel thing before I read your post. I love doing the alphabet, but when I see your posts, I want to follow your themes!

Anyway, here is G is for Giraffe. This one gave us a lot of anxiety, but I think it turned out to be one of our best yet!

Love your shots and great theme! We love the library, we go every Tuesday for story time and to check out books. Love the mood of your photo. Nothing better than a quite library! Ours is crazy the time we go with lots of moms and toddlers. LOL!

We did Reflection this week.

Ack my comment didn't post. Hmmm....

Love both of the book shots! The little mad hatter could have found her book in the aisles of books at the library. Great!

Marty and I did BOOKS too this week.

I know that feeling of getting your camera out it different places. I actually try to take mine everywherre and get it out, I once had a employee in Target follow me around after whipping my camera out in the store and then putting it back in my purse. I think he thought I was stealing it.

Jen and I did Negative Space this week.

You know, I feel the same as you when I'm in the library with my camera (I, too, went up to the 2nd floor to take my pictures).
And I love the resulting diptych!

Lee and I are joining you today with some Spring

I'll also post to the flickr group and grab a button!

Your photos today are absolutely awesome!

I would have felt the same way in the library--you described my feelings perfectly. We must be living on the same "edge"!

Our theme this week is morning--you can see our photo here: http://www.ayearofhappy.com/2010/04/picture-morning.html.

Ooops, just realized I never commented or linked up!

I love your shot of the library...I love to get lost browsing those shelves. Nice treatment on the picture, too. I have a hard time breaking out my camera in public too. I'm not as bad about it as I used to be, but it still makes me self conscious.

Anyhow, Jo and I did NOISE!

I love how yours play off of each other - it is like an Alice tunnel! And the coloring - the muted tones of each - they are perfect!

I think K. already left ours, we did Supper (Dinner for me) this week!

Yes, this is a trippy twosome with the dreamlike processing on Melody's and the tunnel perspective on yours! JoLyn and I did morning this week.

Love this! It made me think of a "Bench Monday" I saw a few weeks ago.
