WALK this way...
When Melody suggested "walk" this week as our theme, I knew I was going to be doing some night photography. My friend Jenny and I get up at 5 a.m. and walk for an hour four mornings a week, so of course, I brought my camera along Monday morning. Jenny thought I was only a little bit crazy.
I first had the idea that I would set my camera up on a tripod and self timer us walking by the camera. Frankly, that was just too much prep before 5 a.m. Instead, I snapped some pictures as we walked, getting some very interesting results as I tried to walk and shoot in the dark at the same time. I knew I had the shot as we were wrapping up our walk. I saw the pedestrian sign, so I stopped, and made Jenny walk ahead while I took the picture.
Melody's shot offers a perfect contrast to mine. Bright daylight, sunny colors, and a wonderful shadow counterbalance my darkness and streetlamps. And apparently, we both like to walk down the middle of the street :).
What do you and your partners have to show us today? Remember to upload to our flickr pool.
I've got one person waiting for a partner...know anyone interested in joining in the fun? Let me know: monamegs@hotmail.com
P.S. If you were wondering how I did the levitation shot last week, I posted a tutorial a few days ago, so just scroll down. All mysteries will be revealed :).

Why wouldnt you think of taking your camera on your almost daily early morning walk...when your theme is WALK! :0) Great choice in getting the sign. I am also tickled by getting your friend and her dog in the shot.
Christina and I chose SOFT for this week.
For some reason my computer refuses to show me your diptych. argh....I'll be back tomorrow to look at it.
Berta and I did "old and New"

It's interesting just how SIMILAR they both are! I love both of them - the contrasts are obvious, however - night/day - color/b&w - nicely done.
Corey and I did "OLD & NEW" - please come and visit!
Your pictures are great. I always love to see different people's point of view on the weekly themes. I was so excited to join in on the fun this week. Thanks for pairing me with Jody. We stayed with your "walk" theme. Check it out here
The pededtrain sign with your friend walking by! LOVE that!!! Also love your persective in this shot - makes her look teeny tiny next to the big sign in the foreground. Any Melody's sunshiny shot offers the perfect balance.
But, getting up at 5:00 by choice, to go walk?? You are either crazy or admirably dedicated - not sure which one. :o)
Jo and I did SOFT this week!
I love it! The sign in the shot is great and I just love that little one "balancing" on the center line. Great job! This is the first week that Angie and I will participate (thanks Megan). We decided to go with your theme of WALK.
Yes, I definitely think the sign makes it. I've always wanted to do night time shots. Don't know that I'd wake for 5 AM shots though. Walk on to see mine.
I love the contrast of the shots, night and day.
Jen and I got our theme from my 3 year old, here is some yummy Lunch.
i love both those shots!!! the two of them together make them pop all the more!
this week jenny and i revisited 'self portraits'...i'm convinced we'll be a subject behind every week! lol!

"Walk" - now there's a simple theme I could get my head around. :) I'm always impressed with night photography, and your photo is no exception. The tones especially...
Here's mine and Carries:
Reflections
I love how both are shot from behind - and the contrasts! Day vs. Night (well...5am is still night to me!) color vs. b&w, big kid vs. little kid! Nice work again!
K and I did reflections this week!
The sign does totally makes the shot. I love the feel of the shot. It is so serene and quiet. Maybe because it is dark. Once again you and Melody knocked it out of the park.
Oh yeah. Here is the link to our contribution this week:
Lunch
Great contrast between the two shots you're absolutely right. :) Although I can't imagine night shots, my camera would so not be cooperative. Yours is so crisp looking, really nice.
So here is ours for the week:

Our theme this week was Pets.

love how you both chose street shots! and I remember those days of "balancing" on the line - pretending to be on a balance beam or high wire :)
here's our walk dip too...

Whew! Better late than never. Anna and I went with Walk as well.
