Team-Up Thursday: Week Seven

relax diptych

Melody and I RELAXed this week, and I don't think we could have captured more different scenes if we'd tried. Melody's photo makes me want to crawl back into bed into that scrumptious warm light and rest for the remainder of the day...or week. Incredibly relaxing.

I went with a different interpretation of RELAX. We went for a hike this past weekend, and when returned to our starting point, I saw this man sitting under the trestle, completely absorbed in his music. He had blocked out the rest of the world and was playing and singing without noticing anyone else around him. I didn't have my zoom lens, and I liked the way the trestle framed him, so tiny in the center of the photograph. He embodied a sense of relaxation that you can only get from being totally occupied by something you love to do.

What do you have to show us this week?

P.S. We're always open to new players, so grab a partner and a theme and play along. Or email me at monamegs@hotmail.com and we'll hook you up with someone.

Great shots this week, and what a perfect theme! I need to take a moment to relax one of these days. You're right, Melody's picture makes me what to crawl in bed myself and yours.....there's nothing like blocking out the word for a couple of minutes to absorb yourself in something you love to do. Love your processing of this photo.

Fantastic framing with the trestle Megan. Being enveloped in something you love to do, especially of a creative nature, truly gives the vibe of being relaxed.

Christina and I took on Lines/Patterns this week.

What incredible framing, Megan! That really does make for a lovely, peaceful scene. And Melody's luxurious-looking bed....ahhh! I think I want to go to bed now. :)

Jo and I did lines & patterns this time.

What a beautiful shot - so peaceful. I love the thought of that relaxed place where you don't need to look around, you can just be. And the two together are great - I love how the trellis and the dresser mirror one another.

Anna and I chose shiny this week.

These photos are GREAT! I too would love to climb into THAT bed and enjoy the light and comfort it offers! Lovely mood that was captured!

I love the guitar player (I am a guitar teacher!) and the trestle does indeed frame him perfectly - zooming in would have actually ruined the shot (in my opinion)!

Great photos, ladies!

What a beautiful setting for him to play. You did a beautiful job framing . Melody's shot makes me feel content when I look at it. Great job this week!

Megan, I think I would have stuck around to listen. Of course you mighta had the boys and well that mighta ruined the mood. I know my girls would have been all (in their loudest voice), "Who is that? What's he doing? Why is he there?" I do wonder what song he's playing. Very relaxing image.

Got MINE up. No relaxing today though. Kinder Rodeo Day at school. The antithesis of relax.

What a gift to stumble across that photo on your walk! It is relaxing just to look at that - much less to know that he is relaxing as well. I love the framing too, and the feeling it evokes of being a very small part of a the whole large world!

K and I did friends this week!

I so want to crawl back into that bed!!!! I love the framing of the trestle, and the colors are so vivid in contrast with the softness in Melody's.

Those giant trestle things never ceased to amaze me.

Love the contrasting ideas.

Typically, it was a week that I found little time to relax, but I knew what I wanted to do the minute I got a chance, so photographed some of my CD stash, which I am busy cataloguing at the moment. Music is a great way to get me to relad! Krista complemented the subject with a soothing cup of tea and a book (I can tell she is a bookworm!). They worked well together and I was very pleased with our results.

Megan first let me thank you for putting me in touch with JoLyn who is so delightful, talented and incredibly patient with me and my inability to get anything done on time!!!!!
I've just had a look at your offering this week over at Melody's place and waxed lyrical about your shot. For me it was the unveiling of the scale that really sold it to me :-D
We've got this to see our offer this week.
