BSM: Weekend Baseball
We had a fun time down at the school this weekend playing family baseball. It involves a lot of invisible runners as there are only four of us :). Actually, sometimes only three because I had to snap photos...
I had forgotten about this great flickr mosaic tool until I used it for our Hawaii trip last month. It's fun and easy to make your own; just go to bighugelabs.
I also have to add one from Harrison's game; I'm not telling whether or not he actually caught the ball :).

Theme Thursday: Wild
I'm stretching the theme this week a bit....OK, quite a bit. This weekend we had beautiful weather, so we ventured downtown. The kids brought their scooters and had a fun time crossing the river over one bridge (Burnside), scooting along the esplanade, and then back over another bridge (Steel). In honor of the theme, I'm going to say that we were taking a walk on the WILD side...
''
That's about as wild as it gets here :).

MCP Gallery Wrap Contest

Help Me Decide...Please?
I'm entering contest for a free gallery wrap over at MCP Actions and I need your help deciding which photo to enter. Keep in mind that with gallery wraps the sides and bottom of the photos are wrapped around the frame, so I've narrowed it to these two because they have enough room around the photo to accomodate being cropped. I tend to like tightly cropped photos, so many of my favorites don't lend themselves as well to a gallery wrap.
To my faithful readers: which one do you think the judges would be more likely to choose? Or really, which one would look better as a 20 x 16 or 20x 30 canvas wrap?

Theme Thursday: New Beginnings
Although Theme Thursday reached the end of its run over at Stacy's last week, the proud tradition continues over at Amy Jo's. I will be around to help Amy Jo when she has her baby, so look for a few Theme Thursdays from my place as well.
For this week's theme, what could be better than a cute baby picture? Especially one like this:
How 'bout THAT for a new beginning?

Owenisms
The other night, Owen brought over two stories to read before bed. I told him he needed to pick one.
Owen: "OK, why don't we tic-tac-toe?"
Me: Pause..."Do you mean 'rochambeau'?"
Owen: "No, let's do 'rock-paper-scissors'."

BSM: Easter Spoils
I really didn't take any Easter-related photos. We had a couple of friends over for egg dyeing, so I was too busy supervising the process to snap any pics. With two boys, it's not as though they get new frilly Easter outfits, so no photos there. My one photo was taken after the baskets and eggs had been found on Easter morning, and the boys gathered at the kitchen table to examine the contents of their baskets.
I've seen so many pretty Easter photos of daffodils and lovely Easter eggs. Mine's more gritty: the loot's been found, and now the treasure's being counted :).

Theme Thursday: The End
Stacy has been hosting Theme Thursday over at her place for quite some time now, but today is her last day :(. However, a couple of us have volunteered to take up the torch, so check her site to see who the lucky one will be.
Thanks, Stacy, for all your great themes and ideas!

Theme Thursday: History
I am diligent about backing up my photos on disk. We recently got a wireless backup hard drive primarily so that I could back up data, particularly photos, on my computer. However, when it comes to scanning old photos, I'm way behind the curve. I have stacks of my albums from high school, college and beyond that need to be scanned and archived. Hmmmm....when is that going to happen? I can't even figure out my scanner.
Anyhooo, my favorite old photos are the black and whites from my parents' and grandparents' younger days. Some of them have actually been put on disk (not by me), and it's great to have them so easily accessible. From my family history, here are two of my favorites for today's theme:
My mom:
My dad:
Now really, can you beat that tuba?
Here's to preserving family history, yesterday and today.
