I'm veering away from the usual summer fun pictures involving pools, popsicles, and sunscreen and into a lesser-known region of summer activities: weapons of mass destruction. I exaggerate just a bit, but I've spent the last two days chaperoning Cub Scout day camp, so I'm sure you'll forgive me.
At Cub Scout camp, in addition to making treasure chests, running obstacle courses, creating funny hats, and making s'mores, my eight year old did this...
and this...
Ask any boy at camp which of the many activities he wanted to do again and again? Yep, you guessed it: BB guns and archery. Weapons and summer fun -- what a combination.

Weapons and summer fun, now it sounds like a 4-H adventure too. :) Great pictures, and you're right lots of fun. My teenager has other ideas, like duck hunting, but that's stuff to look forward to when the get older. Or at least I think. I haven't seen any ducks yet, for which I'm glad as I don't know what I would do with them! LOL
Sounds like lots of fun though, hope you enjoyed the camp!
Great shots. What boy doesn't want to get his hands on some sort of weapon, right? Oh, and I had to scroll down and look at that beach toes shot one more time. I just love that one.
How FUN! I wish I had that sort of thing to go to when I was a kid. I was SUCH a tomboy. Archery and BB guns...my FAVEs.
That is every boy's idea of the ultimate summer fun! Actually, I love it, too - my brother had a bow and arrow and I loved to shoot it.
Isn't that what summer's all about?? I was surprised my dad (father to two girls) didn't buy my son a shotgun as soon as he found out I was having a boy LOL!
Great shots of the perfect camp moments...for boys OR girls. ;)
A boy's dream come true!
Lucky kids! Even I'd have fun doing that! :)
Boy Scout Camp? Wow, I don't know that I could survive that. You are one cool mom!
Oh what fun for boys!! I'm sure I will be spending many a summer watching scenes like this in a few years!!!
Hey that would be my 3-year-old, it's ingrained in their DNA.
